The Unofficial Northern NY Canoe Camp is 3/11-12 in Saratoga NY.
We will be on water both days at 10 am, looking to do 4-6 hours a day.
We will have a fun chase race on Sunday.
There is plenty of room at the house if anyone needs lodging or I can recommend a hotel.
We will have a meal on Saturday night as well.

This early season event is held on the Little River in Canton, NY next to the campus of St. Lawrence University. This is a very low key event on waters protected from spring winds by high banks and woods.

Description:

In addition to being the home of the men's and women's International C-1 Pro World Championship Race, Canton Canoe Weekend hosts amateur and recreational races over the weekend event. The various categories include canoe, kayak and stand up paddleboard (SUP) races, a relay race, the Rushton Tour on Friday afternoon and antique and voyager canoe races. Amateur and recreational paddlers of all skill levels from the local community, New York State and the Northeast, and pro paddlers from across the U.S. and Canada, paddle distances ranging from 3-14 miles on the scenic Grasse and Little Rivers.

The ‘Round the Mountain Canoe & Kayak Race is an Adirondack favorite, taking place annually on the second Saturday of May — the unofficial kickoff event of the Adirondack paddling season. This 10-mile flatwater race starts at Ampersand Bay Resort on Lower Saranac Lake, Follows the Raquette River through the Lower Locks and on to Lake Oseetah, finishing at Riverfront Park on Lake Flower in Saranac Lake. Canoe, Kayak, SUP, Guideboat - all welcome.

Wednesday Duathlons - held on the third Wednesday of May, June, July, August and September on the Little River in Canton, NY adjacent to the campus of St. Lawrence University. The duathlon consists of a 1.25 mile run, a 1.25 mile paddle and is completed by another 1.25 mile run. The start and finish line is located near the Little River Boat Launch at the Park Street (CR 27) Bridge. Teams consisting of paddlers and runners, or solo participants are welcome.

The Madrid Canoe Regatta is a series of races held annually over two days in early June on the Grasse River at Madrid Municipal Park, Madrid, NY. The weekend includes recreational races of three miles, amateur canoe and kayak races of nine and 13 miles, as well as pro races. The pro races include a one mile sprint race and nine and 16 mile marathon races. Amateur and pro marathon races include a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid dam. Camping is available on-site free of charge.

Description:

The Towpath Regatta is a free, family-fun event sponsored by Schenectady
Wintersports Club and Northern New York Paddlers.  It is a loop-course paddling event
open to all types of human-powered boats.

Race starts at Gateway Landing Park, Schenectady, NY (on the SCCC
access road), goes upstream (west) around an island, and back. No vehicle shuttling is
required.

It is expected that participants/spectators adhere to current CDC guidelines for masks
and physical distancing.
